Terms & Agreements

1. Booking & Payment

Tours should be booked in advance through our website or through an authorised booking partner. A booking is confirmed once the required payment has been successfully processed and a booking confirmation has been issued.

Prices shown on the Glacier Mice website are stated in Icelandic króna (ISK) unless otherwise indicated and include applicable VAT. Prices displayed by third-party booking partners may be subject to their own currency conversion, fees or terms.

2. Booking Confirmation

A confirmation will be sent to the email address provided when the booking is completed. Guests are responsible for providing accurate contact information and for reviewing the booking confirmation to ensure that the date, departure time, number of participants and selected tour are correct.

If you do not receive a confirmation, please check your spam or junk folder and contact Glacier Mice if necessary.

3. Guest Cancellations & Refunds

Cancellations made more than 24 hours before the scheduled tour departure are eligible for a full refund.

Cancellations made less than 24 hours before departure, as well as no-shows, are not eligible for a refund.

Where a booking has been made through a travel agent, online travel agency or other third-party booking partner, cancellation and refund requests may need to be handled directly through that provider and may also be subject to the terms attached to that booking.

4. Changes or Cancellations by Glacier Mice

Glacier tours take place in a natural and constantly changing environment. Weather, glacier conditions, ice conditions, access, natural hazards and other circumstances may require Glacier Mice to change, delay or cancel a tour.

Glacier Mice reserves the right to modify the route, location, itinerary, departure time, duration or other elements of a tour where reasonably necessary for safety or operational reasons.

If Glacier Mice cancels a tour and a suitable alternative cannot be provided, guests will be offered the option to reschedule or receive a refund for the cancelled tour.

5. Ice Caves & Natural Conditions

Ice caves and glacier features are natural formations that change throughout the season and from year to year. Their appearance, size, shape, colour and accessibility cannot be guaranteed.

Photographs and descriptions on our website show examples of glacier environments and ice caves encountered on our tours, but conditions on the day of your tour may differ.

The specific ice cave, glacier area or route visited may therefore change according to current conditions and safety assessments.

6. Arrival & Meeting Point

Guests are responsible for arriving at the stated meeting point in sufficient time for their scheduled departure. We recommend arriving at least 15-20 minutes before the departure time shown on your booking confirmation.

Late arrival may result in missing the tour. Tours cannot normally be delayed for late participants, and missed departures due to late arrival are not eligible for a refund.

Unless otherwise stated in the booking confirmation, Glacier Mice tours depart from the Jökulsárlón Main Parking Area in Southeast Iceland.

7. Participant Responsibility

Guests must follow the instructions of Glacier Mice guides and staff throughout the tour. Instructions relating to safety, equipment, movement on the glacier and group management must be followed at all times.

Participants are responsible for considering whether the selected tour is appropriate for their physical ability and circumstances. Tour descriptions provide information about duration, difficulty and participation requirements.

Glacier Mice may refuse or discontinue participation where a guest does not follow safety instructions or where continued participation could create an unreasonable risk to the guest, the group, guides or others.

8. Age & Participation Requirements

Minimum age and participation requirements vary between Glacier Mice tours. The requirements shown on the individual tour page and booking confirmation apply to the selected experience.

Minors must be accompanied by a responsible adult unless otherwise expressly agreed.

9. Clothing & Equipment

Glacier Mice provides the technical glacier safety equipment specified for each tour. Depending on the activity, this may include equipment such as helmets, crampons and harnesses.

Guests are responsible for arriving with suitable clothing and footwear for the activity and weather conditions. Requirements and recommendations are provided in the relevant tour information.

A guide may determine that clothing, footwear or other equipment is unsuitable where it creates a safety concern that cannot reasonably be resolved before departure.

10. Safety

Glacier travel involves natural hazards and takes place in an environment that can change rapidly. Guides assess conditions and may adapt an activity when necessary.

Guests must not leave the group, enter restricted areas or ignore instructions from their guide.

11. Travel Insurance

We recommend that guests have appropriate travel insurance for their trip to Iceland, including cover suitable for planned activities, medical expenses, travel disruption and cancellation where applicable.

12. Personal Belongings

Guests are responsible for their personal belongings during the tour. Glacier Mice cannot guarantee the security of items carried, stored or left in vehicles or at the meeting point.

We recommend avoiding unnecessary valuables during glacier activities and securing cameras, phones and other equipment appropriately.

13. Liability

Glacier activities involve inherent risks associated with natural terrain, weather and changing glacier conditions. Guests are expected to follow guide instructions and the participation requirements of the selected tour.

Nothing in these Terms & Agreements is intended to exclude or limit liability where such liability cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under applicable law.

14. Third-Party Bookings & Services

Some Glacier Mice tours may be booked through third-party travel agents, tour operators or online booking platforms. Additional terms may apply to transactions made through those providers.

Where another provider supplies a separate service as part of a guest’s wider travel arrangements, that service may be subject to the provider’s own terms and conditions.

15. Personal Data & Privacy

Personal information associated with bookings, enquiries and use of our website is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

16. Changes to These Terms

Glacier Mice may update these Terms & Agreements when necessary to reflect changes to our services, booking procedures, operational requirements or applicable rules.

The current version will be published on this page together with the date of the latest update. The terms applicable to a booking are subject to applicable law and the circumstances of that booking.

17. Applicable Law

These Terms & Agreements and bookings made directly with Glacier Mice are governed by applicable Icelandic law.
